The Peace River Chapter of
ABATE is one of the oldest chapters in Florida. Established in 1983, the
Peace River Chapter has always been about supporting ALL motorcyclists in
the state. From attending legislative issues at the state capital, to
meeting with local lawmakers, these individuals stand strong in making a
difference.
There is a dedicated group of volunteers that
unselfishly work to support the causes and disciplines of ABATE. We are
motorcycling enthusiasts from all walks of life. We lobby and educate the
government and the general public to promote motorcycling in a safe and
positive image. We endeavor to enlist the cooperation and participation
of all organizations and individuals that share a similar interest in
preserving our American tradition of FREEDOM.
We promote motorcycle safety, training, and
political awareness. We are not a club or a gang. We fund our work
through toy runs, events, and other motorcycling activities. We are your
neighbors and friends who work, pay taxes, and get involved with our
community. We serve and support our country and believe in freedom. We
use all legal means to protect our rights without infringing on the
rights of others.
Our goals:
1. To remain a
powerful and viable political force in legislative matters concerning the
motorcyclist in Florida.
2. To promote the safe riding habits without
infringing on individual freedoms.
3. To motivate the bikers to write letters to
their legislators before, during and after the legislative session.
4. To furnish our members with a newsletter
that keeps all bikers informed in regards to upcoming legislation.
To join the Peace River Chapter of ABATE, please
attend our monthly meeting! We meet on the fourth Sunday of each month at
the:
American
Legion
3152
Harbor Blvd.
Port
Charlotte, FL 33952.
