   January 22 of 2012 will be the next regular scheduled monthly meeting at the meeting hall on Pan American Blvd and will include an appeciation type brunch for everyone to celebrate the great job that everyone did during the year.

    On December 11th we will hold the 2011 ABATE Toy Run in conjunction with the West Coast Chapter of ABATE. The ride will begin at Ken Thompson Park on City Island in Sarasota (By Mote Marine) and will end at the Schib Shrine Hall on Beneva Road in Sarasota.  Bring an unwrapped toy/gift to the event which will act as your entry into the event.  You can get more information on this event on the West Coast web site.  Planning for our toy run next year is in progress.

    Just some information for everyone......As you are all aware each one of us receives a complimentary $4,000.00 insurance premium for being a member of the Peace River Chapter of ABATE.  This is an automatic item that every state member receives.  What you should be aware of is the fact that a yellow card is given to everyone that receives this benefit.  If you mail this card in you will start to receive phone calls attempting to sell you additional insurance or additions to the plan you have been given for free.  You do not have to send this card back in.  The policy stands.  If you want to specifically assign any person as the beneficiary of this policy, simply call ABATE headquarters at 386-943-9610 and advise them of the purpose of your phone call.  They will assist you in all items of this insurance policy.

    November 27th is the last formal meeting of the Peace River Chapter until after the turn of the new year.  Following this meeting the chapter will be holding its annual food drive.  You may bring food, money or such items of value that will be useful to those people that are wanting at this time of the year.  Further information on this food drive will be provided to all of the members during the October meeting of the chapter and we certainly hope that everyone will bring a lot of the goods they have that are expendable to them.

     Anyone that is looking for places to ride, simply check the ABATE section of this website and you will find plenty of places to spread your cheer and have a heck of a good time.  We make every attempt to keep everyone informed of every place we even hear of that might have a great ride or a great event for you to see.  Take advantage of some of them and enjoy yourself, that is what ABATE is all about in addition to defending our rights.  Don't just sit at home when you can be enjoying life.

    Also, remember that Peace River Chapter is not sleeping.  We have an entire year to have a good time and do some good riding and camping.  One of the things we plan to do is post all scheduled trips and camping outings on this front page.  Want to come?  It will be posted where to meet for the trip and everyone is more than welcome.  We intend to post interesting trips with interesting people and the really big trips will invite other chapters along our way.  Keep looking till you find something you are interested in or send me some ideas.  The goal is to have a great time
